—“J.J.” the Whale
The bronze casting was finished in May, 2011
A great number of my sculptures and paintings are influenced by the ocean
This 16-foot whale is the first three dimensional Bronze sculpture that I ever produced. It took about nine months to form the maquette and about nine months foundry time.
“J.J.” is located in the children’s sand playground in Kellogg Park, La Jolla Shores, California.
It was commissioned in 2010 by the “Friends of La Jolla Shores” and is willed to the City of San Diego Parks and Recreation Department.
